A Greek temple not built by the Greeks

• Why is the temple unique?

  The temple is a magnificent building in perfect Doric style but it is not possible to define it "Greek" as those at Agrigento and at Selinunte (Selinus). Greeks, actually, started building from the cell and then built the colonnade all round. At Segesta, instead, there's no trace of a cell and other ingongruenties, observed, witnessed that the temple wasn't built by the Greeks.

• Why a Greek enemies built a Greek temple?

  They may have built it to compete with the big temples at Selinunte, Greek colony and Segesta's implacable enemy.

A Greek theatre built by the Romans
