Poeta inglese. È autore di due canzonieri (Parthenophil and Parthenophe, 1593; A divine centurie of spirituall sonnets, 1595) e di una tragedia antipapista (The Devil's charter containing the life and death of Pope Alexander the Sixth, 1607) (Yorkshire 1569 - Durham 1609).
